The end of rosary prayer that is the most popular or common is the Hail, Holy Queen prayer.

Aside from Hail, Holy Queen, there are a few others that you can pray as the end of rosary prayer which are also very popular.

Hail, Holy Queen Prayer

Hail, Holy Queen is the prayer that follows at the end of the rosary. It is most common to place your entire rosary in your hands and hold the crucifix while you pray Hail, Holy Queen. Below is the prayer to follow along whether you’re praying alone or in a group.

Praying Alone

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us. And, after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.

Group Prayer

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us. And, after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael “The Archangel”

The prayer to Saint Michael “The Archangel” is the second most popular prayer to pray at the end of the rosary.

Saint Michael Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him. We humbly pray and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God. Cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

The Memorare

This prayer is an excellent choice on top of the others as an end of rosary prayer since it is to the Virgin Mary. For this reason, many Catholics choose to pray this prayer after Hail, Holy Queen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary. That, never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you, O virgin of virgins, my mother. To you, do I come. Before you, I stand sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me.

We Fly to Thy Patronage

For the most part, Catholics pray this prayer or The Memorare as one of the devotion prayers at the end of the rosary.

We fly to thy protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our petitions in our necessities but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

Prayer for Pope’s Intentions

This prayer can be prayed at any time and is a good choice for an end of rosary prayer. It gives you the opportunity to also reflect on the pope’s intentions for the current month. It’s normal to use the first three beads of the rosary above the crucifix when praying this prayer.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Rosary Prayer

Typically, this invocation will come after the devotional prayers that you elect to pray at the end of the rosary. Some refer to this invocation as the Rosary Prayer.

For the Optional and Final Prayers sections below, the first line is prayed by the versicle (V) or group prayer leader, and the second line is the refrain (R) or group response.

O God, whose only begotten son, by his life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation. Grant, we beseech thee, that while meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy rosary of the blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Optional

V: May the divine assistance remain always with us

R: And may the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Final Prayers

V: Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

R: Have mercy on us

V: Immaculate Heart of Mary

R: *Pray for us

*Another option is to add the name of a saint of your choice at the beginning of “Pray for us”.

Sign of The Cross

Making the sign of the cross always comes at the very beginning and end of all prayers.

In the Name of the Father (touch your forehead with the crucifix), and of the Son (touch your heart with the crucifix), and of the Holy Spirit (touch your left then right shoulder with the crucifix). Amen (fold your hands in prayer if you aren’t holding a rosary, or if you are able with a rosary in your hands).

When praying the rosary, many also choose to kiss the crucifix at the end of making the sign of the cross. Others close their eyes and thank God for all of his blessings.

Editor’s Final Thoughts and Last Words

The rosary is a prayer that I remember fondly from my childhood. It was a prayer that brought my entire family together. For us, the end of rosary prayer was the perfect way to end our night before going to bed.

I remember praying the rosary at our local Holy Catholic Church. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel was just a few blocks away from my house but most of my memories come from praying the rosary at home with my family. Our leader in prayer was my beloved mother even though my father was a devoted man of faith.

Praying the rosary brought peace and harmony to our home. It was a great family tradition that gave us the opportunity to reflect on our faith. Most of all, it was a chance for us to reflect on our blessings and thank God. We didn’t have much in terms of worldly possessions, but we had our faith and we had each other.

Hopefully, you were able to choose an end of rosary prayer that suits you after reading this article. May Christ our Lord and God creator of Heaven bless you!
